Aflatoxin G2:
General Information:
Aflatoxin G2 is a mycotoxin, which may be produced by mold species of the genus
Aspergillus in areas of the world with hot and humid climate.

Toxicology and Safety Data:
AFG2: LD50 = 3.4 mg/kg (oral, duckling)
In 1987 the WHO classified the aflatoxins as Group 1 cancerogens. Aflatoxins are
potent liver carcinogens and mutagen agents from natural source. AFG2 produces
DNA-damage and sister chromatid exchange in animal cells in culture.
Aflatoxicosis is poisoning that results from ingestion of aflatoxins in
contaminated food or feed
